I found him in a market in a backwater corner of Thanalan, crouched helplessly in a too-small cage, caked with things I don’t want to think about. First time I touched him, he bit me and wouldn’t let go. So I bit my lip until it bled almost as badly as my fingers; I didn’t want to scare him by pulling away. I still have little scars there, but they make me smile because I think of him.
There’s no way I was going to put gil in the pocket of the monster who kept him that way. Lucky for me, Thanalan seems to harbor plenty of thieves for hire.
I heard a little Roegadyn lad call an apple a “bo bo” back when I first visited Limsa, so that’s what I’m calling him, after his big ol’ head.
It took a while for his appetite to come back, and by the time he trusted me enough to let me bathe him, I had to shave off some of the worst bits. He still has a couple of patches of fur that haven’t grown back in yet, but I think he’s the most handsome little thing ever.
He seems so much happier now. He still bites me sometimes but I think he just thinks I’m someone else, someone who did something bad to him that he still thinks about. That’s okay. I love him anyway. The best things are a little bit broken.
I logged in earlier today to discover this surprise in my moogle mail! Sei gave him to me as a belated birthday gift, because he is the sweetest, most amazing friend! We’d been running Brayflox HM repeatedly a few days ago, trying to get the minion to drop to no avail. I’m lucky to have such generous, thoughtful friends. I love it. (Thank you, Sei! ♥!)
